Rationale -- Factors Influencing the GEC's Deliberations

CLA Document

The GEC has been influenced by a great number of factors as it has worked toward a proposal for a GE Program. The composition of this list of factors and the priorities within it have changed significantly over the four years since the Council was established. At this point, the Council is giving greatest attention to three factors: the nature of Bucknell's student body, with its needs and strengths; the nature of the Faculty, both in its diversity and the ways in which it is itself evolving; and a vision of Bucknell's future and the kinds of conditions in which Bucknell will carry out its academic functions, as set out most forcefully in Foundations for the Future.
