The Bucknell Brigade continues to be able to supply freshly roasted fair trade certified organic shade grown coffee beans from Nicaragua.
The coffee is purchased directly from the worker-owned Manual Jose Lopez cooperative in El Porvenir, Nicaragua. We import it as green beans to Fresh Roasted Coffee a local coffee company in Selinsgrove, PA that roasts the beans on demand for us. This gaurantees you the freshest roasted coffee possible.
Buy this specialty coffee for just $12/lb. and you will be supporting the both 15 farmers of the Manuel Jose Lopez co-op and their families and the continuing efforts of the Bucknell Brigade.
For orders that exceed 25 pounds, the coffee is $9.50 per pound.
Call Stacey Sommerfield at 577-3928 for orders, or come to the Office of Civic Engagement located on the first floor of the Bertrand Library. You can also order on-line by clicking here.
If you are interested in purchasing a large order, send an email to Stacey Sommerfield at email@example.com.

The Bucknell Brigade is offering a new way to donate to our cause, and at the same time give a wonderful gift to a friend or a loved one. When you donate through the Bucknell Brigade Honor Card offer, you can give a donation in the honor of someone else. The donation will go to help the Nicaraguan community of Nueva Vida and we will give you a beautiful postcard that you can send to your friend or loved one. This card will explain how the gift given in their name has been used to help those in need and includes pictures showing the work of the Bucknell Brigade in progress.
Your generosity can go a long way to help the Bucknell Brigade provide health care in Nueva Vida, and your friend or loved one will know that the gift accomplished good works in the world. There are honor cards for many different holiday occasions, and others that can be sent at any time of the year. And do not forget, your donation to the Bucknell Brigade is tax deductible.
The Brigade is currently involved in multiple recycling efforts.
Help support the Bucknell Brigade by donating your used cell phones, computers, personal electonics and printer cartridges. The Brigade will receive a monetary donation for each item donated and the best part is these items won't end up in a landfill! Please note that we are unable to accept printer drums from large commercial printers or copiers.
New in 2012 we also joined Terracycle. This means we can recycle a number of personal and household items as well as different types of packaging. For a complete list of the items we accept please stop by Bertrand 119.
Donation boxes are located in the uphill and downhill lobbies of the LC, the Library, the 7th Street Cafe and the Office of Civic Engagement.
With each Brigade we send 25 packed suitcases of medications and donated items for the clinic. To see a complete list of items we need please click here. Before you throw it away, give us a call at 577-3973 or e-mail Stacey Sommerfield.
Check out our fundraising page here to find out all our upcoming events. We host a 5k run each fall and a silent auction each spring. But new exciting fundraisers are occuring all the time.
