Foundation Seminars -- Content Objectives

Instructors will not be limited to any particular subject matter but each Foundation Seminar should be interdisciplinary in nature or focus on multiple perspectives within a discipline. Instructors should emphasize the interconnectedness of knowledge; and, to this end, instructors teaching seminars with similar content and/or methodologies will be urged to collaborate whenever possible. Several topics that might be especially appropriate for Foundation Seminars are suggested in Foundations for the Future, including, for example, those relating to personal growth; aesthetic appreciation; creativity; historical understanding; multicultural and international perspectives; global and environmental issues; and issues in science and technology.
