The Distribution -- Broadened Perspectives for the Twenty-First Century

CLA Document

To prepare students intellectually for the 21st century, the GEC proposes a "Broadened Perspectives" requirement consisting of two courses. Students will satisfy this requirement any time during their undergraduate years by taking one course focusing on "Perspectives on the Natural and Fabricated Worlds" and another focusing on "Perspectives on Human Diversity." Courses that satisfy the Disciplinary Breadth requirement may also satisfy the Broadened Perspectives for the 21 st Century requirement. In addition, a student may be able to satisfy the "Perspectives on Human Diversity" requirement through a semester of study abroad. Faculty will notify the Common Learning Coordinator of courses and Colloquy seminars they are teaching that satisfy these requirements.
