Guidelines for Submission of Manuscripts
University Press
-
Potential authors should initially submit a letter of proposal and cv. The proposal usually addresses in a few pages the substance and the argument of the book, places the study in the context of existing scholarship, and includes a brief bibliography.
-
The University Press usually considers manuscripts that are not under active consideration at another publisher.
-
The University Press does not usually publish manuscripts of which more than 50% has already appeared in print.
-
We require one hardcopy of the manuscript (unless more than one is requested), preferably formatted according to the standards of the Chicago Manual of Style (latest edition). Please include a title page with your name, a table of contents, and paginate consecutively. Complete the manuscript information sheet and include it with your manuscript.
-
Manuscripts accepted for publication will eventually be required to be submitted on CD or computer disk.
-
We do not usually consider unrevised Ph.D dissertations.
-
Please forward your submission to: Greg Clingham, Director, Bucknell University Press, Taylor Hall, Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
