 | Kristin Vallis, Junior Fellow Hometown: Ridgefield, CT Major: Biology Contact: kjv002@bucknell.edu “Hello! Come join the Environmental Res College!!! This was absolutely one of the best decisions of my freshman year. The Res College immediately gave me a group of forty people that I could call my good friends. Because we worked and learned together, we will never forget the bonds that we created our freshman year. The Res college provided a learning environment that is unique to the Bucknell campus and not only educated me about the environment but I became politically aware with our trip to Washington D.C. The Res college program made my freshman year unforgettable.”

Living with other students who had the same interests as myself afforded me the opportunty to meet people and make friends that I otherwise might not have found. The Res. College program encourages learning in and out of the classroom through interactive group projects and unique trips. In addition to hiking, exploring Centralia, and participating in rewarding service projects, we also travelled to Washington DC to lobby for environmental legislation, which was a new and exciting experience that I would have never had without the Res. College."
