Tuition and Fees
Questions often arise about the financial guarantee required for admission of international students to Bucknell University. This is written to clarify these requirements and the calculations that go into establishing the actual figures.
The financial guarantee for international students is required by federal law and enforced by the Department of State and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) under the auspices of a Student (F-1 or J-1) visa. Students must certify that they have sufficient financial support to complete the program of study, and they must show proof of the financial support for at least the first nine months of study. (Support from the same or equally dependable sources must be assured for program duration). After calculating any external or Bucknell scholarship, students must verify ability to pay for any remaining cost of attendance prior to the University issuing the immigration (I-20 or DS-2019) document. Please consult the International Student Services website if you have additional questions about this process.
The actual figures used by International Student Services are adjusted annually, based on cost of living and tuition adjustments. The figures for each year are obtained through Bucknell's Office of Financial Aid.
