Host of summer construction projects scheduled

LEWISBURG, Pa. — A host of campus construction projects are underway or planned for summer 2006.
Dennis Hawley, associate vice president for facilities, said a number of other minor projects also are underway that address programmed maintenance —roofs, walks, roads, locks, painting, and carpet replacements.
"We are also working on a long list of design, feasibility, and planning projects, all in the thinking and paper stages — no construction at the moment," he said. They include the Campus Master Plan, administrative office building, campus theater, Swartz Hall renovation, energy management, the Rt. 15 entrance project, central chiller plant expansion, and Dana HVAC replacement.
Specific summer projects include:
Dana Engineering
Renovation of three classrooms — supported by a grant from Air Products
Several minor lab hood improvements
Replacement of about one half of the roof
Olin Science
Renovation of two Physics Labs, Rooms 260 and 261
Langone Center
Bison Renovation
LC 217 surface-finish upgrade (wallpaper, carpet, and paint)
Samek Gallery Kress Collection room renovation
Minor upgrade to forum-carpet/seat upholstery
Partial roof replacement Animal Lab renovation.
Kenneth Langone Athletic & Recreation Center
Addition of restrooms near fitness center
Upgrades to Gerhard Fieldhouse Hall of Fame area
Bertrand Library
Teaching and Learning Center creation
Several small renovations in Research Services, map room and equipment services areas
Rooke Chemistry
Convert room one to NMR lab
Chemistry integrated lab upgrade
Bucknell Hall
Convert seminar room to two faculty offices
Computer Center
Add cooling to mainframe room
Psychology Lab
Animal behavior classroom renovation
Gateway Residence Halls
