Educational Background
B.A., University of Virginia
Ph.D., Duke University

Research Interests
My research broadly involves the evolutionary ecology of plant-herbivore interactions. More specifically, three areas of focus are: (1) evolution of plant defense strategies, (2) ecological interactions among herbivores sharing a host plant, and (3) effects of herbivory on plant-mating system evolution. Past research has involved the native weed horsenettle (Solanum carolinense) and its diverse community of insect herbivores. I am currently working with Warren Abrahamson on the goldenrod-herbivore system.
