Introduction to Sociology
This course is intended to be a general survey of the field of sociology. The objectives of the course are: (1) To provide a basic understanding of the discipline, (2) to offer insights into the Sociological Perspective, (3) to familiarize the student with basic sociological concepts, (4) to sensitize students to what exactly sociologists do, what methods they use, and what issues attract or concern them, and (5) to generate interest in and discussion of social issues.
