The 2008-09 academic year, the 163rd in Bucknell University's history, was officially opened Tuesday, Aug. 26, with Convocation in the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. A kilted bagpipe player led the 950-member Class of 2012, faculty and staff to the Academic Quadrangle for the traditional candlelighting ceremony and singing of the University's alma mater, Dear Bucknell. Posted Sept. 3, 2008.
