Fields of Research and Teaching Interest: Environmental economics and policy, and law and economics

Recent Activities: Professor Kinnaman published the article "Why do Municipalities Recycle?" in Topics in Economic Analysis and Policy (2005) and the article "Examining the Justification for Residential Recycling" in the Journal of Economic Perspectives (2006). He has recently edited or co-edited two volumes of collected research on the topic of residential solid waste management. Professor Kinnaman has also published in, among others, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and the Journal of Urban Economics. He is currently studying the effect of solid waste landfills on property values.
