Fields of Research and Teaching Interest: History of economic thought, pedagogy, technology and the digital economy, economic policy

Recent Activities: Currently Professor Shackelford is in the process of revising edition 8 of Economics: A Tool For Understanding Society, a principles text which she co-authors with, Geoff Schneider, Bucknell University, Economics), and Steve Stamos (Bucknell University, International Relations). She is also working on a text on the Digital Economy. Recently she has presented conference papers on technology and pedagogy, in the history of economic thought, and edited The History of Economic Thought: A Reader. Currently she is working on intergrating iPod technology into academic courses. Over the years Professor Shackelford has been an active participant in university governance, serving on a number of committees, and has served twice as director of the Writing Center and co-director of the Race/Gender Center. Jean was the incorporated and founding president of Sunflower Day Care Center. She also is a founder of the International Association for Feminist Economics, serving as its first president, and as its Executive Secretary of IAFFE from 1990-2005.  She runs an electronic list devoted to the discussion of feminist issues in economics.
