Minor in Mathematics

There are two ways to earn a minor in mathematics:

  • Four credits from mathematics courses numbered 211 or above, at least one of them at the 300 level; or
  • Three credits from courses in mathematics numbered 211 or above, at least two of them at the 300 level. Fulfilling either of the two credit requirements given above will lead to a minor in mathematics.

The minor can be specified as in one of two areas of specialization if the listed requirements are met.

The Mathematics (Statistics) Minor
This specification is given if at least two of the credits required for a minor are from among the courses MATH 217, 303, 304, 305, and 307.

The Mathematics (Applied/Modeling Mathematics) Minor
This specification is given if at least two of the credits required for a minor are from among the courses MATH 212, 222, 226, 343, 350, and 358.
