The Major Advisor

Normally a student is assigned an advisor (from among the regular members of the staff) at the time of declaring the major. The Department will try to accommodate student wishes in the appointment of advisors, but if the advisee load for a given staff member becomes too heavy, the Chair may assign students to a different advisor.
