Systems Lab - Computer Center Room 4
This interdisciplinary computer lab is used by the Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering departments. This lab is equipped with 10 PC computers, each of which has a multi-function data acquisition card and a GPIB 488 interface card installed. The GPIB card is used to talk to a variety of benchtop instruments, used in conjunction with the data acquisition cards to monitor and control a series of small experiments. These experiments include liquid level control, position control (satellite simulator), thermal monitoring and motor speed control. There are also a variety of sensors assigned to each computer station, so students can investigate the electrical characteristics of different temperature and strain transducers.
