This one and a half credit Bucknell Summer School course is central to, and required for participation in, Bucknell in Northern Ireland. The course may count towards Geography and Psychology major and minor requirements.
Students who are neither Psychology nor Geography majors can appeal to their major department chairs to have this course counted towards their major/minor.

PSYC 330/ENGL 290: Conflict and Peace in Northern IrelandCredits: 1.5
This course consists of a series of orientation sessions at Bucknell during the spring semester, followed by lectures, panel discussions, service-learning placements, and excursions during the 3.5 weeks of the program in Northern Ireland. The course is focused on the sectarian conflict and efforts to bring peace to Northern Ireland, especially as addressed in voluntary sector (non-profit) organizations. Students are assigned to placements in such organizations, based on their experiences and interests, while in Northern Ireland. |
