2007:

Monday, September 3
Early decision deadline, for an early October decision from Council.

Monday, September 3
Deadline for advisor to file letter of intent to direct an Honors Thesis with letter of recommendation for students with overall GPA of less than 3.5.

Friday, October 12
Final due date for Honors proposals from students graduating in May, 2008.

No proposals will be accepted by the Council later than this date.

2008:

Friday, February 23
Defense committees should be formed by this date.

Advisors, along with their students, should appoint one committee member. Honors Council assigns, often from its membership, a representative who is from a department outside the student's major. (See details under Final thesis examination menu option.)

Friday, April 11
Last day for submitting the completed thesis to the examining committee.

Friday, April 25
Thesis examinations must be completed by this date.

Monday, May 5
Last day for depositing an approved copy of the thesis with the Director(s) of the Honors Council.

NOTE: Students are encouraged to complete requirements earlier than these deadlines and are urged to read carefully the guidelines for thesis preparation.
