LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell University will welcome back more than 2,500 alumni, family and friends for Reunion Weekend, June 2-5.
Festivities will include a 3.1-mile fun run, canoe trips on the Susquehanna River, alumni college sessions on the Internet and digital photography, class banquets, Pavilion dance party, and a look at today's undergraduate experience by Bucknell President Brian C. Mitchell and other academic officers.
The academic session will showcase some of Bucknell's professors and their student researchers who will present their creative research projects.
"As Bucknell evolves on the national stage, so too does our Reunion program," said David Flinchbaugh '82, director of the Office of Alumni, Parents, and Volunteers. "The Pavilion Party will showcase the wonderful new Sojka Pavilion. Our Student Reunion Ambassadors, 25 of our best and brightest current students, will share with you the challenging and complex world of today's student."
Alumni in the "0s" and "5s" class years will celebrate milestone reunions. Of note, the class of 1945 reception and dinner will mark its 60th reunion, while the class of 1950 will celebrate its 55th reunion, and the class of 1955 will commemorate its 50-year golden anniversary.
The Saturday, June 4, alumni fun run begins at 9 a.m. in the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Interested participants should report to the stadium for registration about one-half hour before the race begins.
