Merola Awarded Travel Funds
Brit Merola, a senior Chemistry major from Great Meadows, NJ received funding through the ACS Women Chemists Committee (WCC) to present her work entitled "Temperature effects on the diffuse reflectance spectra of nontronite clays " at the 2006 Fall ACS National Meeting in San Francisco. Brit, who works with Professor Molly McGuire, was one of 17 recipients from 13 different universities and colleges across the United States. Congratulations, Brit!
A full list of Fall 2006 WCC travel award winners for Fall 2006 follows: Seventeen female chemists have received the ACS Women Chemists Committee (WCC) Travel Awards to attend scientific meetings between July 1 and Dec. 31. Unless otherwise specified, the awardees will attend the upcoming ACS national meeting in San Francisco. The winners are: Boston College: Carrie Aroyan, Mahami Shizuka, and Vikki Tsefrikas.
