back up your data Beginning this summer, the Tech Desk will not be backing up your data if you bring your computer to the desk. It is your responsibility to have your data backed up to an external hard drive! We’ll be happy to help you: (1) find and buy the right hard drive for you, (2) set up your backup, (3) restore your data if you need to get a new hard drive, (4) show you how to access Netspace from on or off campus and use your 600mb of network space to protect your most important academic documents, (5) show you how to use USB keys and DVDs to create quick temporary backups of your current projects. For Mac users with Leopard, we’ll have extensive documentation on how to use one of Apple’s best features, Time Machine, to protect your data. For complete details, please see our Back it up, Bucknell web page at www.bucknell.edu/backitup.
