Bucknell’s New Student Orientation program offers an extensive five-day program full of academic, traditional, and community building events.
Class of 2018 first-year students are scheduled to arrive on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 between 8 am and noon. After a series of afternoon programs, family and friends are asked to depart between 5-6 pm.
During New Student Orientation, students have an opportunity to meet with their Foundation Seminar and Engineering 100 Instructors, become introduced to their academic deans through introductory college meetings, and learn how to achieve academic success while at Bucknell.
Throughout New Student Orientation students take part in traditional ceremonies and events that teach students what it means to be a Bucknellian. First-year students will receive their class pin and walk through the Christy Mathewson Gates, learn the alma mater at ‘Ray for the Orange and the Blue, and participate in the annual Convocation and Candlelighting ceremonies.
From the moment new students step onto campus, they will begin to feel the love and pride of being a part of a special community. From Playfair to Color Games, first-years will participate in community building activities that will have a lasting impact.
