Co-captain of Bucknell’s first two varsity lacrosse teams and the 1968-69 basketball team, Ed Farver was a first team Little All-American and MVP in the Middle Atlantic Conference in lacrosse in 1969. On the lacrosse field, he helped lead Bucknell to a 10-1 overall record and perfect 7-0 MAC record in 1969 as the Bison won their first-ever conference championship. He played in the 1969 North-South Senior All-Star Game, and according to Hall of Fame coach Sid Jamieson was one of the best midfielders he ever coached. A tremendous athlete with exceptional quickness, Farver also averaged 7.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game in three seasons of varsity basketball. At the end of his senior year he won the Bison Club Award, presented to the senior athlete who best exemplifies the winning spirit of the University’s athletic program, and the Humphreys Award as the top multiple sport athlete.
