Football

Stan Durtan

A three-year letterman at tackle, Stan Durtan was one of the finest offensive linemen to play for the Bucknell football team. The fourth member of the 1972 team to be elected to the Hall of Fame, Durtan was perhaps the most honored player on that 6-3 unit, being named to the Associated Press All-Pennsylvania third team. A three-year starter for the Bison, he was also named the All-Pennsylvania second team in his junior year. Following graduation, Durtan was drafted by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He came to Bucknell from Swoyersville, Pa., and Wyoming Valley West High School. (Bucknell Hall of Fame Class of 1998)
