Barbara Castens-Seidell ’79
Field Hockey, BasketballA co-captain of the basketball and field hockey teams as well as a member of the lacrosse squad, Barbara Castens-Seidell was one of the first two women elected to the Hall of Fame along with Karin Wegener Kinsely. In basketball Castens-Seidell set records for season (18.7) and career (15.0) rebounding average. She is also ranked seventh on the all-time scoring list with a career average of 12.7, and she was drafted by the Houston Angels of the Women’s Professional Basketball League. Named Bucknell’s outstanding multi-sport athlete in her class, Castens-Seidell also played goalie in three U.S. Field Hockey Association national tournaments and holds a share of the Bucknell career shutouts record with 15.
