Recruiting Options

There are many different ways to reach Bucknell students through the Career Development Center:

  • Off-Campus Resume Referrals
  • On-Campus Recruiting
  • Listing employment opportunities (The BRIDGE)
  • Annual Fall Employer Expo
  • Industry-oriented career fairs
  • Engineering Internship Network (engIN) - 9 high quality institutions are partnering to bring you an opportunity to recruit this top intern talent without leaving your office.
  • Engineering Recruiting Consortium (ERC) - institutions partnering to bring you an opportunity to recruit top talent for both full time jobs and internships

If you are interested in listing an internship or full-time job opportunity with our office, complete the corresponding form and submit it online.

In addition, our robust recruiting program includes:

Online:

The BRIDGE - Provides students with access to the CDC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Job and internship listings, company and industry information, the CDC complete calendar of events and deadlines, and personal space to stay organized and apply for opportunities are included within the BRIDGE. Students are able to search the, password-protected, site for full-time and internship opportunities targeted by employers specifically to Bucknell students and alumni. This service is available through Bucknell's full partnership with experience.com.

Off-Campus Resume Referrals:

The method typically used by employers who have or wish to have more of a relationship with Bucknell and is a 3-step program done online via the BRIDGE.

  1. The CDC advertises your opportunity to students via the BRIDGE and other communication methods
  2. Interested students submit resumes online by the set application deadline
  3. After the application deadline the employer has access to all the submitted resumes. The employer is able to view the resume/cover letter in PDF format and/or they are able to bundle the candidate resumes and print them. If you prefer, the CDC can access your file, print the documents and fed-ex, email or fax them to you.

On-Campus Recruiting & Interviewing:

Considered the next step after Resume Referral On-Campus Interviewing provides employers the opportunity to meet and to assess a variety of qualified students in one day. Our staff will coordinate the arrangements for your visit; options include pre-screened or open interviews. The employer comes to campus on a designated prearranged day and uses the CDC interviewing facilities to interview the students.

A recruiting day is 8:45 - 5:00 with a 75-minute lunch break and two 15 minute breaks built into the schedule, interviews are typically 30 minutes. It is a similar process to Resume Referrals (students apply and send resume/cover letter by the application deadline). The employer then responds on the BRIDGE to students indicating whether they have or have not been selected for an interview. Selected students then sign up for interview time slots on the BRIDGE.
