Networking Information 

Bucknell holds annual large-scale events for employment and graduate school each year. These events, held both on and off campus, provide Bucknell students with wonderful exposure to a wide variety of industries and employment opportunities. We are also affiliated with a number of consortium events that are listed below. 


On-campus fairs & networking events include:


Employer Expo 2007
Thursday, September 20th from 11:00 AM - 3:00
PM in the Gerhard Fieldhouse. Our annual employer fair kicks off our recruiting season and offers a wonderful opportunity for Bucknell students to meet with employers and learn about possible career & internship opportunities! This is a closed event, available only to Bucknell students. Over 550 students and 100 employers participated last year. Click on the links below for more info and the list of participants. Graduate School Day 2008
Wednesday, October 15, 2008, location and time TBD.
  Our annual graduate school event, held on campus each fall, attracts nearly 100 admissions representatives from various graduate and professional school programs across the country!  Questions should be directed to Jennifer Derk at the CDC jderk@bucknell.edu or call 570-577-3586. 

Engineering Career Network Event 2008
February 22, 2008, 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Larison Dining Hall 
The Bucknell Engineering Alumni Association, Career Development Center and the College of Engineering will co-host the 6th annual engineering alumni/student career networking event. All Bucknell engineering students are welcome. The goal of this program is to provide students with information about a variety of career fields so that they are able to make better decisions about which career path to choose. Alumni will talk with students about their represented career field - what it entails, its trends and future direction, typical volunteer, internship or entry level positions, and other pearls of wisdom they might want to share. Bucknellians in Government
Tuesday, June 26 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Washington, DC. 
Join us for this networking event which will allow students and recent graduates to explore the wide variety of opportunities the government has to offer. Alumni are encouraged to get involved and share their own stories and career paths. Co-organized by the: Career Development Center,Bucknell Public Interest Program,Bucknell's Annual Fund and generously supported by alumna Katie Malague'94.Questions should be directed to Emily Dietrich at the CDC (570-577-1589 or edietric@bucknell.edu)

NYC Finance Fair 2007
Tentative date:  Thursday, September 27, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.,
in NYC
Held for the eighth year, the goal of this career fair is to bring interested Bucknell students to NYC to meet with professionals who work in the many different areas of the finance industry and can offer current hands-on perspectives to them.  Participants representing organizations will be stationed at tables around the room. Students will be able to approach them to learn about what they do, as well as, explore any internship and/or full time opportunities they may have available within their organizations.

Career Networking Nights 2008
Last year events were held in:  Boston . . .Philadelphia. . . San Francisco. . .
The Career Networking NIghts (CNNs) are an annual series of networking events over winter break that offer students an environment to network with alumni and parent representatives from different regions.  Students have a unique opportunity to learn about career paths, organizations and any volunteer, internship and full-time positions organizations presently have or plan to have available in the future. These programs are all closed events, available only to Bucknell students. Transportation is on your own.

Communication & Arts Career Fair 2008
February 27, 2008,  5:00 - 7:00 p.m., in NYC. The purpose of this event is to offer students an environment to network with alumni and parent representatives of various types of communications and arts organizations about their career paths, their organizations and any volunteer, internship and full-time positions they presently have or plan to have available in the future. Held in NYC each year, this is a closed event, available only to Bucknell students. Transportation available from campus.

Washington DC Career Fair 2008
(Government, Nonprofit, International & Public Affairs)
March 4, 2008,  5:00 - 7:00 p.m., in DC.  The purpose of this event is to offer students an environment to network with alumni and parent representatives from the Government, Nonprofit & Public affairs worlds about their career paths, their organizations and any volunteer, internship and full-time positions they presently have or plan to have available in the future. This event is opened to Bucknell students only. Transportation available from campus.

ENGINEERING RECRUITING CONSORTIUM 2008 - Philadelphia
February 28, 2008.
  A consortium event involving students from Bucknell, Lafayette, Lehigh, Princeton and Swarthmore.  Both full time and internship positions are available.  Held at the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce at the Bellevue Building, Broad Street.    Registration information as sent in December 2007 and we are currently on a wait list status for space.          


Annual Teacher Career Fair
April 8, 2008, Bloomsburg University
A annual consortium event involving students from Bucknell, Susquehanna, Lycoming, Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, Mansfield and East Stroudsburg.  Most representatives from school districts will be from the mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the US.  Schools should contact Bloomsburg University career center for registration info.  For more information visit www.bloomu.edu/careers.html and click on "Calendar of Events."
