Vernam Honored with SDO Impact Award
Dec. 16, 2004
LEWISBURG, Pa. — Jon Vernam, director of the Small Business Development Center at Bucknell University, has been honored with the State Director's Office Impact Award.
The award is given to an individual, a team or an SBDC that has excelled in their work in improving the impact of their SBDC and the entire Pennsylvania SBDC network.
Vernam, who joined the Bucknell SBDC in September 1999, has been director since 2001. Under his leadership, the Bucknell SBDC has significantly expanded the positive impact for the program throughout the communities of their service territory.
In addition to managing the center, Vernam organized several sub-committees over the past year to help develop research projects for identifying needs and gaps in service delivery of the program. The projects included: a start-up study on small business; a high-growth venture study; and a product and service commercialization analysis.
As a result of his management of these initiatives, the SBDCs will vastly improve upon their position in providing services to all of Pennsylvania's entrepreneurs.
"We are thrilled to present Jon with the SDO Impact Award. Jon has been extraordinarily dedicated to the mission of the Pennsylvania SBDC and he is very deserving of this honor," noted Pennsylvania SBDC State Director, Gregory L. Higgins Jr.
