LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Wynton Marsalis Quartet will perform the final concert of the season at Bucknell University's Weis Center Friday, April 16, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the event are $30.
Trumpeter Marsalis will perform with Eric Lewis, piano; Carlos Henriquez, bass; and Ali Jackson, drums. The current tour by the quartet is in celebration of the recent Blue Note release of "The Magic Hour," and features the four artists on that recording.
Marsalis and a septet originally were scheduled to appear at this performance. Ticketholders were alerted to the change by the campus box office.
This performance is made possible in part by generous contributions from Ruth and Arnold Aprahamian, Joyce and Louis Betz, Elizabeth and Henry Maguire, and Phyllis and Norman Rich.
Remaining tickets for the performance are available from the Bucknell Campus Box Office in the Weis Center weekdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by calling 570-577-1000. Tickets also can be purchased one hour before the performance. For information regarding the availability of services for persons with disabilities at Weis Center events, call 570-577-3700.
The 2003-04 season of Weis Center events is made possible in part by generous funding from the Bucknell University Association for the Arts and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. Additional support for the series is provided by numerous and generous private donors including members of the Weis Center Green Room Circle and Green Room Board.
