The women’s and men’s cross country teams produced another spectacular performance at the Patriot League Championships Saturday at Lehigh University.

Despite adverse weather conditions and a challenging race course, the women’s team prevailed, winning its second straight title. Captain Leanna Nastase ’07 captured the individual title in 23 minutes 6 seconds. The men’s team took third overall. Matt Forys ’07 posted the fastest time for the Bison in 25:36 seconds on the eight-kilometer course, placing third overall.

The women’s team tallied a mere 28 points to win the event ahead of Navy with 79 points and Colgate with 82 points on the six-kilometer course.

“Twenty-eight points is much better than we had anticipated,” Head Coach Kevin Donner said. “I was very impressed with how our ladies handled the adverse conditions and to have individuals go one-two against such great runners is just beyond my wildest dreams.” (read full article)
