Colin Kidd

Colin Kidd is Reader in History at the University of Glasgow. He received his PhD from Oxford University, was a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, and is currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and holder of the British Petroleum Prize Lectureship in the Humanities. Recent publications include British Identities beforeNationalism: Ethnicity and Nationhood in the Atlantic World, 1600-1800 (Cambridge University Press, 1999) and Subverting Scotland’s Past: Scottish Whig Historians and the Creation of an Anglo-British Identity, 1689-c.1830 (Cambridge University Press, 1993).
