Klare, Five College Professor of Peace and World Security Studies and Director of the Five College Program in Peace and World Security Studies (Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Former Director of the Program on Militarism and Disarmament at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C. Professor Klare has written widely on U.S. defense policy, the arms trade, and world security affairs. He is the author of several books, including most recently: Resource Wars: The New Landscape of Global Conflict and Rogue States and Nuclear Outlaws. He received his B.A. and M.A. from Columbia University and his Ph.D. from the Union Institute in 1976.
