Luciano García Lorenzo is Research Professor at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Madrid and Director of the International Festival of Classical Theater in Almagro, Spain. He received his doctorate from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and has been visiting professor at the State University of New York, Middlebury College, Washington University of St. Louis, McGill University (Canada), and Université de Bordeaux (France). He has been a Member of the Theater Council of the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Member of the Board of Directors of the CSIC. Professor García Lorenzo has represented Spain on the European Science Foundation’s Committee on the Humanities and has been named Officier de l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques. He founded and directed Cuadernos de Teatro Clásico and is currently on the Editorial Board of Anales Cervantinos and Revista de Literatura, Edad de Oro, Criticón, Theatralia, and Insula. A specialist in Spanish Golden Age theater, he has presented papers at conferences in Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Argentina and the United States and has published articles in a wide variety of national and international journals.
