Emilie Gordenker is an art historian who combines a specialty in 17th-century Dutch and Flemish art with considerable experience in IT and multimedia development. Since earning her Ph.D. from the Institute of Fine Arts of New York University in 1998, she has published extensively on Anthony van Dyck as well as on the representation of dress in Dutch and Flemish art. Her book, Van Dyck and the Representation of Dress in 17th Century Portraiture, was published by Brepols in 2001; forthcoming is her “Painterly Dress: Making Sense of Rembrandt’s Costumes” for The Cambridge Companion to Rembrandt.  Having worked in curatorial and educational roles at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Frick Collection, she is currently Senior Creative Manager for Antenna Audio, London, where she produces audio tours and audio-visual programs for a broad variety of museums including the Tate and London’s National Gallery.
