Cyndia Susan Clegg, Distinguished Professor of English at Pepperdine University, holds a BA, MA, and Ph.D. from UCLA, the last of these focused on English Renaissance Drama. A specialist in Early Modern print culture, Dr. Clegg is the recipient of numerous honors including British Academy Fellowships in 2003 and 1999 and a Bibliographical Society of America Fellowship in 2001. Forthcoming is her The peaceable and prosperous regiment of blessed Queene: Elisabeth: A Facsimile from Holinshed’s Chronicles (1587) (Huntington Library Press), but her critical renown over the last decade has come primarily from an in-depth study of issues in censorship including numerous articles in such journals as Renaissance Quarterly, Shakespeare Quarterly, and Studies in Philology and culminating in the well received books Press Censorship in Elizabethan England (Cambridge, 1997) and Press Censorship in Jacobean England (Cambridge, 2001).
