Parviz Morewedge is Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Global Cultural Studies (IGSC) at Binghamton University, State University of New York, and specializes in Greek and Islamic philosophy. Over the past forty years, he has taught at numerous institutions throughout the United States, and has given seminars and lectures in the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, China, Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iran, where he also served as acting Dean of Humanities and Technology for the Arya Mehr University at Isfahan. He has published numerous books on Islamic philosophy, theology and mysticism, as well as translations of key works by Avicenna, al-Tusi, and Mulla Sadra. He is the Director of Global Publications, Executive Secretary and Treasurer for the Study of Islamic Philosophy and Science (SSIPS), Editor-in-Chief of the Islamic Translation Series (ITS), and an active editorial board member of many other scholarly journals and series in the history of ancient and medieval philosophy.
