Arjun Makhijani
Institute for Energy and Environmental Research

Dr. Arjun Makhijani is currently the president of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research in Takoma Park, Maryland.  He has written extensively on nuclear waste and other nuclear weapons and nuclear power related environmental and security issues. He is principal editor of Nuclear Wastelands which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He also has written for the Washington Post, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and has testified before Congress. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Electrical Engineering at UC Berkley, where he specialized in plasma physics as applied to controlled nuclear fusion
