It’s an exciting time to be a Bucknellian, and here you will find continually updated information about the development of this Campus Master Plan – a crucial step in achieving The Plan for Bucknell. As individuals, our students, faculty, staff, and alumni continue to achieve new levels of excellence. As an institution, Bucknell, too, must set new standards for success. In spring 2006, the Board of Trustees unanimously passed The Plan for Bucknell, following the support of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and parents. The five strategic points of The Plan are guided by one bold vision statement: Bucknell will provide the premier undergraduate experience in American higher education. Creating a new campus master plan
With the same open spirit of cooperation that shaped The Plan for Bucknell, we now turn our attention to creating a new Campus Master Plan. This will be the mechanism that physically supports the strategies of The Plan for Bucknell. The Master Plan will provide the blueprint for the future of our campus buildings and green space. Already, the Bucknell campus is known as one of the most beautiful in all of higher education. At this exciting juncture in Bucknell’s history, we have the chance to build on our past while creating an unparalleled atmosphere of learning for our students. After a national search, in fall 2006 we hired the distinguished firm of Shepley Bulfinch to help us develop this Campus Master Plan. This firm will help us ensure that Bucknell remains one of the most attractive and functionally effective living and learning environments anywhere. From exceptional to extraordinary
This Web site is designed to answer questions about the Campus Master Plan and encourage community participation in its development. The ideas of students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents, and community members will help ensure the value of Master Plan projects.
