Library Guide

  • Bertrand Library Catalog: search for books, journals, DVDs, etc. owned by Bucknell, as well as for electronic journals to which Bucknell has access.
  • Electronic Journals: to search specifically for electronic journals, start here.

Can't find what you want?  Use these links for an interlibrary loan:

  • E-Z Borrow: only for books, but since it's not mediated by staff, is generally faster than going through ILLiad.
  • ILLiad: for any other type of interlibrary loan, log on here.
  • Interlibrary Loan Information: for more information on E-Z Borrow and ILLiad.

Other library resources:

  • Mathematics Research Page:  the library's page of mathematics links, including links to on-line encyclopedias, databases, journal archives, journal citation reports, etc.
  • MathSciNet: this link also works from off-campus.
  • EZproxy login: use this link when off-campus to access electronic journals or databases to which Bucknell subscribes.  The list of available resources includes the Encyclopedia Britannica, SpringerLink and ScienceDirect (Elsevier).  The ScienceDirect connection will be especially slow; a shortcut is to find the journal issue you want through the regular means, and then replace "www.sciencedirect.com" with "www.sciencedirect.com.ezproxy.bucknell.edu" in the url bar of your browser.  An analogous trick will work for most of the other databases.
  • Photocopy Workorder: submit requests for photocopying articles and chapters from the periodicals desk in the library. Your department will be charged $.10 per page.
  • Purchase Request: ask the library to buy the materials you need.
  • Course Reserves: put course material on reserve.
  • Library and Information Technology Homepage: if the current page doesn't tell you what you need, try Library & IT's own page, including the "Ask Library & IT" facility.
