LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Samek Art Gallery artists lecture series presents a talk by Shauna Frischkorn and Rebecca Strzelec Friday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. in the Gallery Theatre of the Elaine Langone Center. A reception will follow.

Frischkorn and Strzelec are artists whose work will be included in the Samek Art Gallery exhibition, "Outside the Centers/On the Edge," later this spring. The exhibition includes the work of 15 contemporary Pennsylvania artists who live outside the centers of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Frischkorn is professor of art-photography at Millersville University. Her most recent series, Game Boys, is a work-in-progress that documents the cultural phenomenon of video games by making portraits of the "gamers" who play them.

Strzelec is assistant professor of visual arts at Penn State University, Altoona College. Her most recent work is a continuing investigation of the ways wearable objects interact with the surface of the body. Using a variety of medical adhesives and wound-treatment devices she create brooches that are applied directly to the skin.
