Computer Security and Privacy
Who's Privy to Your Privacy?
Though almost everyone at Bucknell uses an Internet-connected computer daily, many do not realize the responsibility involved. Most simply use the Internet as a tool without being aware of the risks. Today's technology tools are incredibly powerful and one must remember that with great power comes great responsibility. Each of us must take responsibility to not be the weakest link in Bucknell's community. Many don't realize that the Bucknell network is constantly under attack and that malicious activity occurs every day. 92% of the email received by Bucknell servers in the last 24 hours was spam intended to steal your identity or money? 42,129 viruses attempting to hijack your computer were blocked from delivery in email messages by our virus scanner in the last month?
Privacy, identity management and computer security are all critical issues in today’s online world. ISR hopes to create awareness on campus about these important issues over the next few weeks.
