What about Windows 7, Office 2010, and Office 2011?

Windows 7 is fully supported at Bucknell. All of our labs on campus have Windows 7, faculty and staff machines use Windows 7, and we expect that all students bringing PCs to campus will have Windows 7.

What if I want to stay with XP or Vista but order a Bison Laptop? Is that an option?

No, we only offer Bison Laptops with Windows 7.

 

What about Office 2007 and 2008, and Office 2010 and 2011? 

Office 2010 and 2011are available  through Microsoft's Ultimate Steal promotion: www.theultimatesteal.com. All of the PC labs will  have Office 2010 and the Mac labs have Office 2011.

We will continue to support 2003 and 2007 as well as 2010 on the PC.

For the Macs, we support Office 2004 and 2008, but we advise students to use  Office 2011. 

Bucknell does not have a license for Office for students. It does not come automatically on the Bison Laptops.
