Rooke Chapel Ringers, Choir to give concerts

LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Rooke Chapel Ringers and the Rooke Chapel Choir will perform their spring concerts the last weekend in April at Rooke Chapel at Bucknell University. Both performances are free and open to the public.

Ringers concert April 28

The Rooke Chapel Ringers will perform Saturday, April 28, at 8:30 p.m.

Conducted by William Payn, the concert will feature "Sabre Dance" by Aram Khachaturian and "Bacchanale" from Samson and Delilah by Camille Saint-Saens. 

Also featured are two new works by William Payn: "Horizons" and "Commemoration of the Spirit." The popular and well-known signature piece of the Ringers, "Farandole" by Georges Bizet will complete the Saturday evening program.

Choir concert April 29

The Rooke Chapel Choir will perform in concert Sunday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m.

Conducted by Payn and accompanied by David Cover and the Vivaldi Chamber Orchestra, the program will feature "Gloria" by Antonio Vivaldi and a set of "Three Songs of Faith" by Eric Whitacre. 

Also featured are two works by senior student composers Liesel Wittmer and Mark Ulbrecht.

The Sunday evening Choir program includes performances by senior student soloists Sarah Latzy, Alex Numeroff, Melissa Mino and Kathryn Nadler, and junior Christina Chovanes in "Gloria" as well as a special arrangement of the spiritual "By and by" with senior Alessandro Zanelli, tenor.
