Bucknell hosts convocation for Virginia Tech
LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell University will host a Community Convocation Sunday, April 22, at 7 p.m. to reflect on this week’s events and pay tribute to the victims of the tragedy at Virginia Tech.
The convocation, which will take place on the University's Academic Quad, will include remarks by the University Chaplain, a student, a staff member, a faculty member, and President Brian C. Mitchell. Special music for the occasion will presented.
In announcing the convocation in a campus-wide email Friday, Mitchell said, "We are inviting the entire Bucknell community, both on campus and beyond, and we hope that you can join us as we come together to remember, reflect and share community solidarity and good will."
Earlier this week, the Chaplains' Office held an inter-religious candlelight vigil for Virginia Tech in Rooke Chapel. Nearly 200 students, faculty, and staff attended.
