Ensemble Galilei
with NPR’s Talk of the Nation host
Neal Conan
and projected images from the
Hubble Space Telescope
with special thanks to the Office of Public Outreach
at the Space Telescope Science Institute

Some of the most spectacular images that really are from out of this world, accompanied by brilliant musical performances and interspersed with poetry and texts ranging from a retelling of a Navajo Creation Myth, through Shakespeare, and on to Stanley Kunitz, Jim Harrison, and Ann Lister. A program that can overwhelm your ears, your eyes, and your mind – you will never again feel a part of something so immense while pondering how infinitesimal is the here and now. Virtuosic, versatile, vivacious, and entertaining, Ensemble Galilei performs Irish, Scottish, early, and original music. The group includes Liz Knowles, who fiddled for Riverdance, and US National Scottish Harp Champion Sue Richards. As the veteran utility infielder of NPR, Neal Conan has worked on every program produced by NPR News and has covered the Iran-Iraq War, the Gulf War, presidential elections, inaugurations, and an impeachment. The Hubble Space Telescope needs
no introduction.
