Once upon a time, when Ronald Reagan was President of the United States, a group of Congressional staffers decided that if entertainers could become politicians, then it wasn’t that much of a stretch to imagine that politicians could become actors, singers, and comedians. Since 1981, Capitol Steps has recorded over 23 albums and been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS. The company performs over 500 shows a year all over the United States, and can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their "Politics Takes a Holiday” radio specials. In the spirit of celebrating diversity, Capitol Steps is an equal opportunity offender, though the only complaints received are from politicians who are not included in the satire. As every political scientist knows, any publicity, even bad publicity, is better than no publicity.
