The Bucknell Forum
Since 2007, the Bucknell Forum speakers series has featured nationally renowned leaders, scholars and commentators who have examined various issues from multidisciplinary perspectives and a diversity of viewpoints. || Previous events
The current Bucknell Forum series, "tech/no," embraces the perils and promises of technology. The series, which started in fall 2012 and will run through spring 2014, aims to stir discussion about the pros and cons of technology, its benefits and damages, its legitimate promises and false panaceas, and its capacity to satisfy human need and desire even as it can bring risk and danger.
The Bucknell Forum Task Force encourages Bucknellians to submit suggestions for speakers at Speakers Forum.
Speakers are being sought to explore how technology has affected a range of areas, which might include social change, human relationships, culture, politics, medicine, science, the environment, globalization, education, journalism, business and more. Suggestions for speakers can be sent to email@example.com.
The task force comprises faculty members Jordi Comas, Elisabeth Guerrero, Kelly Knox, Dave Rovnyak, Steve Shooter, and Margot Vigeant; students Katurah Klein '13 and Lindsey Myers '13; and administrators Kari Conrad, Rob Springall, and Pete Mackey, chair.
The Bucknell Forum is supported in part by a contribution from Parkhurst Dining Services.
