Fragment from a priceless Buddhist scroll revealing much that was previously unknown about the foundations of the religion, and the cultural history of India. Text is written on birch-bark, circa 1st - 8th cetnuries CE.


Birch bark is made from the thin, extremely fragile bark stripped from trees, dried, oiled, polished, then joined together in strips with natural gum.
