By Michelle laxer News EditorA small group of students gathered in the Roberts, Trax and Kress Halls quad on Tuesday night for an impromptu memorial service to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The service was quickly coordinated just hours before it was held because there was no planned official ceremony as there had been in the past. Alyson Cobb ‘09, a resident assistant (RA) in Roberts Hall, began making phone calls to other Roberts, Trax and Kress Hall RAs at 5 p.m. that day. She was expecting a campus-wide e-mail announcing some sort of memorial ceremony and was surprised when nothing arrived. “I realized the University wasn’t doing anything, so I called all the [Roberts, Trax, and Kress] RAs and told them to e-mail their residents and post signs,” Cobb said.
