About the Writing Center

Writing Center Mission

Established to support Bucknell's Writing Across the Curriculum Program, the Writing Center encourages writing as a process of creating and communicating knowledge and seeks to generate active learning, primarily by facilitating talk among thoughtful and supportive fellow writers.

Services

The Writing Center offers:

  • individual consultation on writing, as well as workshops on writing, the teaching of writing, and related issues in communication, for all members of the Bucknell community--students, faculty, and staff
  • support for faculty in course development and teaching practices.

Staff

The Writing Center is staffed by four Writing and Teaching Consultants, one Writing Consultant, a Program Coordinator, and a student staff of 33 Peer Writing Consultants. To reach any staff member or make an appointment with a professional or peer consultant, call 577-3141.
